be like Jesus, not the world

when Jesus saves us, we become new. we become a new person - a better person with the knowledge of Jesus. how can we continue walking in sin with the knowledge that Jesus died for our sins? we must not continue to walk in our prior ways of sin, but instead we must walk in the Light. Jesus should truly transform our lives. we should live for Jesus.

Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." Jesus makes us a new creation. our walk of darkness, of sin, has passed away. and our walk of light in Jesus begins. of course, we will still sin. we are all sinners. if we were perfect, Jesus wouldn't have to save us. He died for our sins because He is perfect. He is the Son of God, the perfect lamb. we need Him.

as followers of Jesus, we become examples of Him. we must set a good example. we must be different from the world. don't be like the world, be like Jesus. show the world the greatness of Jesus. show the world the glory of God. let people see the light of Jesus in you. be a light for Jesus. Matthew 5:14-16 says, “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven." glorify God by doing these good works and letting your light shine. don't blend in with the world. don't hide the light of Jesus within you. be bold for Jesus. share the good news. do good for Jesus and let your light shine.

Jesus is the light of the world. when we are saved, that light of Jesus is within us. John 8:12 says, "Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life." follow Jesus, believe in Jesus, and walk in the light of Him. don't walk in the darkness of the world, walk in the Light. be a light for Jesus.

when we be like Jesus, we give ourselves a testimony. how can we share the good news when we act like the world? how can we claim that Jesus has transformed us when we act the same as the world? being a vessel for Jesus gives us a testimony to share. that Jesus changed us. so don't be the same as the world. don't act the same as the world. be like Jesus, not the world. Matthew 6:19-21 says, "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." don't but your treasures on earth, but in Heaven. don't let your heart be in the world, but in Heaven. how can you be different from the world if your treasures are in the world? we have to be like Jesus, so store your treasures in Heaven.

1 Corinthians 10:31 says, "So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." do everything for the glory of God. live your life for Jesus.

let Jesus transform you. let Him change you.

be a light for Jesus. be bold for Jesus. let your light shine.

be like Jesus, not the world. don't live for the world, live for Jesus.
